Nestled on a lazy shore of Lake Titicaca lies a stetch of amateur astronomy heaven.
After your first steps outside, you will certainly believe you are a few steps closer.

	Clear, transparent skies provide 8th magnitude seeing that is SIMPLY STUNNING! The new observing challenge in 2002 competed in number of messier objects observed in the Lake's Reflection! At this altitude, you will have a harder time locating objects in a sea of brilliant distractions of the Milky Way - than in indentifying faint-fuzzies.  We recommend that one night of SSSP, observers just lie-back in a lawn chair and wander the milky way naked-eye or with binoc's.
	Guests set-up on the observing pad situated right on the lake's edge.  Here, you are steps away from hot coffee and cocoa in the hotel's warm room. An electrical wiring harness supplies 110vac current to scopes on the field. A wind-break is provided on North and East sides to create a still, dry and transparent observing spot. Scopes are set-up on Monday and under close security, stay in-place all week until tear-down.
